BYD, MG, GWM Thailand BEV sales (2023-2024)
BYD ~40K (2024)
BYD became Thailand's top BEV brand in 2024 with an estimated 40,000-45,000 units delivered, having opened its Rayong plant in mid-2024. MG (SAIC Motor-CP) and GWM (Great Wall Motors) sit in the second tier at roughly 7,000-12,000 BEV units each. The three Chinese OEMs together accounted for the majority of Thailand's BEV registrations in 2024, displacing legacy Japanese ICE dominance at the entry level. 2025 sales are being squeezed by aggressive BYD price cuts and inventory de-stocking pressure across the segment.
