Thailand has approximately 4,200 Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) certified food processing facilities as of 2024 per the National Food Institute (NFI), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) under the Ministry of Public Health, and the Department of Industrial Works (DIW). HACCP certification is the baseline export-prerequisite for Thai food processors selling into EU, Japan, US, and high-income ASEAN markets. CPF, Thai Union, Betagro, GFPT, and Tipco lead the certification footprint. Roughly 1,800 of the certified facilities additionally hold ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000. SME certification rates remain materially lower at ~28-35% of registered SME food processors.
