Effective Q1 2026 the Department of Tourism and Sports through the Thailand Film Office expanded the foreign-production cash rebate from a previous 15 to 20 percent envelope to a stacked structure: a 15 percent base on qualifying Thai spend, an additional 5 percent uplift for Thai cultural-content inclusion (Thai language, Thai cast or Thai locations as narrative) and a further 5 percent uplift for post-production performed in Thailand, capped at THB 150 million per project. The package positions Thailand against Singapore (8 to 12 percent), Malaysia (12 to 18 percent) and Vietnam (10 to 15 percent) as the most competitive Southeast-Asian destination for tentpole productions. The Q1 2026 quarterly application window saw 47 applications including 11 from Indian productions per the Thailand Film Office quarterly bulletin.
