The Defence Technology Institute (DTI), a public-organisation arm of the MoD established in 2008, received an estimated THB 750-900 million annual appropriation through 2020-2024, funding indigenous programmes including the DTI-1 multi-launch rocket system (MLRS), DTI-2 anti-armour rocket, and UAV development under the Anti-Drone Ground Defence System programme. DTI's budget remains a small fraction of the MoD topline but underpins the Thailand 4.0 indigenous defence industry policy. DTI also operates as an offset prime in foreign procurement deals.
