Chatree gold-silver mine production (post-restart)
~120-140 koz Au (2024 run-rate)
The Chatree gold-silver mine, operated by Akara Resources (a subsidiary of Kingsgate Consolidated, ASX:KCN), restarted production in March 2023 after a seven-year forced closure (2017-2023). 2023 partial-year output was approximately 35-40 koz gold equivalent; 2024 full-year output is tracking 120-140 koz Au at a roughly 12-15:1 silver-to-gold by-product ratio per Kingsgate quarterly activities reports. The Phichit-Phetchabun-Phitsanulok-bordering Chatree operation is Thailand's only commercial-scale gold mine and the dispute over its closure underpinned the 2023 ICSID arbitration which awarded Kingsgate compensation against the Thai government.
