Hyperscaler Thailand cloud-and-AI investment commitments

AWS launched its Thailand cloud region in January 2025 with a commitment of USD 5 billion over 15 years to build out region capacity, the largest single-vendor commitment to Thailand cloud infrastructure to date. Microsoft announced a USD 1 billion+ two-year investment in Thai data-center and AI infrastructure in 2024. Google opened its first Thailand cloud region as part of a USD 1 billion commitment announced in 2022. In aggregate Thailand attracted USD 16.1 billion in data-center investment across 28 projects in H1 2025 (20x H1 2024), with ByteDance and Chinese hyperscalers joining the three US-headquartered providers.
