Thailand Board of Investment Section 8 of the A4 Targeted Industries schedule grants 0 percent import duty on machinery, components and prototypes for robotics, automation and Industry 4.0 projects, plus a corporate income tax holiday of up to eight years and exemptions on dividend taxes for promoted activities. Honda Thailand R&D, Toyota Research Institute Thailand, Panasonic Hospi assembly line, Innotree and Roboticsfist have all secured Section 8 certificates between 2024 and 2026. The BOI also runs a separate medical-device-manufacturing incentive that compounds with Section 8 for products holding a Thai FDA Class 2 or Class 3 registration, which captures the smart-bed, tele-vitals and assistive-mobility cohort.
