Genome Thailand WGS cohort buildout (2024-2027)

50K WGS, 200K array (2027 target)

As of2024-2027·Sources3·Primary·Historical series (4 points)

The Genome Thailand programme targets 50,000 whole-genome sequences plus 200,000 array genotypes of Thai citizens by 2027, anchored under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation and operationally coordinated by NSTDA. As of 2026, cohort recruitment has cleared the 18,000 WGS milestone with a planned acceleration through 2027. The resulting dataset gives ethnic-Thai-calibrated training data unavailable in Western reference cohorts (1000 Genomes, gnomAD, All of Us) and positions Thai labs as the structural exclusive supplier for ASEAN AI compound discovery work. Commercial-access tier is expected to activate by 2027 once cohort passes 25,000 WGS milestone.

What not to do with it

Values in thousands of completed whole-genome sequences. Array genotype cohort (200K target) sits separately. 2027 target represents the programme roadmap; commercial-access tier activation expected once 25K WGS milestone is cleared.
