Virtual bank consortium capital targets
THB 5-10B per licensee
Each Thai virtual bank licensee must commit minimum registered capital of THB 5 billion and scale paid-up capital toward THB 10 billion within operating-phase milestones per the Bank of Thailand framework. The Krungthai-Gulf-AIS-OR consortium (CLICX) and the Ascend-led consortium have publicly indicated operating-phase capital plans in the THB 10-12 billion range, while SCBX-KakaoBank-WeBank has flagged similar magnitude. Combined first-wave virtual bank capital deployment is therefore likely to reach THB 25-35 billion (USD 700M-1B) in the first three years.
