Thailand's annual waste stream is composed of roughly 46% municipal solid waste (MSW), 40% non-hazardous industrial waste, and 14% hazardous waste per Pollution Control Department reporting. Total annual waste generation is approximately 28-30 million tonnes, with MSW running 13-14 million tonnes, industrial waste 11-12 million tonnes, and hazardous waste 3-4 million tonnes. Hazardous waste includes electronic waste, chemical sludge, and asbestos, which require Department of Industrial Works manifest tracking and licensed treatment facilities.
