Thailand waste-to-energy installed capacity (2020-2024)
~530 MW (2024)
Thailand's waste-to-energy (WtE) installed generation capacity reached approximately 530 MW by end-2024 per Energy Regulatory Commission and Department of Alternative Energy Development and Efficiency (DEDE) tracking, up from roughly 220 MW in 2020. TPI Polene Power (SET:TPIPP), Better World Green (SET:BWG), and EA Energy Absolute (SET:EA) led capacity additions, alongside several municipality-operated plants under public-private partnership contracts. The PDP 2024 plan targets approximately 900-1,000 MW of WtE capacity by 2030.
