Thailand robot density per 10,000 manufacturing workers (2020-2024)
~134 (2024)
Thailand's industrial robot density rose from approximately 100 robots per 10,000 manufacturing workers in 2020 to roughly 134 by 2024 per the International Federation of Robotics (IFR) World Robotics Report and FTI tracking. Thailand ranks as one of ASEAN's highest robotics-adopting economies, behind Singapore (>600 robots per 10K) but ahead of Malaysia and Indonesia. Adoption is concentrated in automotive assembly (Toyota, Honda, Isuzu, BMW), electronics (Western Digital, Seagate, Delta, Sharp), and white goods. The 2022-2024 acceleration tracked EEC EV factory commissioning, with BYD Rayong alone deploying ~1,000 industrial robots at startup. The global benchmark is South Korea at over 1,000 robots per 10K.
