Royal Project Foundation, Mae Fah Luang Highland Herbs and the Sakon Nakhon indigo-region cooperatives collectively organise an estimated 4,500 to 7,800 certified specialty-herb farmers by 2027, up from roughly 1,200 in 2024. The cooperative base spans Pho Singha highland lemongrass, Phak Pueng heirloom kaffir lime, Mae Salong galangal premium grade, Doi Inthanon turmeric heirloom, Yala-Sakon Nakhon holy basil and Thai basil, Sakon Nakhon pandan vanilla, and the Yala-Pattani-Krabi single-origin chili cluster. Cooperative organisation is the binding catalyst for single-origin traceability at export-grade scale: ACFS ThaiGAP Plus audit cost and EU CSRD farm-level disclosure require aggregated cooperative documentation that individual smallholders cannot economically generate.
