Thailand LNG terminal regasification capacity (ranked)
~19 Mtpa total (2024)
Thailand's installed onshore LNG regasification capacity totalled approximately 19 million tonnes per annum (Mtpa) at end-2024, concentrated at Map Ta Phut on the Eastern Seaboard. PTT LNG's Map Ta Phut Terminal 1 (commissioned 2011) provides 11.5 Mtpa after a Phase 2 expansion. The Nong Fab (Map Ta Phut Phase 2 / LNG Receiving Terminal 2) commissioned in 2022 adds 7.5 Mtpa. Gulf Energy Development together with PTT is progressing an additional ~5 Mtpa Map Ta Phut Phase 3 floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) targeted for the late 2020s, which would lift national capacity to roughly 24 Mtpa. The single-location concentration creates a structural resilience risk.
