Thailand container throughput by port (mix share)

LCP ~85%, BKK ~13%

As ofFY2024·Sources2·Primary·Historical series (3 points)

Thailand's national container throughput is dominated by Laem Chabang Port at approximately 85% of national TEU, with Bangkok Port (Khlong Toei) capped by city-traffic policy at approximately 13%, and smaller volumes flowing through Songkhla Port (south), Ranong (Andaman), and minor coastal ports. PAT's 2024 statistics put combined national throughput at approximately 10.5 million TEU. The mix has been remarkably stable for over a decade because Bangkok Port is policy-capped (vehicle-traffic mitigation through urban Bangkok) and Songkhla/Ranong's depth and connectivity limit their share. The Phase 3 expansion at Laem Chabang will entrench this concentration rather than rebalance it.
