Laem Chabang Phase 3 expansion timeline and capacity
+4M TEU capacity, late 2020s
The Laem Chabang Phase 3 expansion adds approximately 4 million TEU of incremental annual capacity through new Terminal F, awarded as a 35-year PPP concession to a consortium led by Gulf Energy Development, PTT Tank Terminal, and Hutchison Ports Thailand. Total investment commitment is approximately THB 110-115 billion. The Eastern Special Development Zone Office (ESEZO) and PAT jointly oversee the concession. Terminal F is being equipped with automated container-handling systems and designed to handle the largest contemporary container vessels (20,000+ TEU). Construction is in progress with phased terminal commissioning targeted for the late 2020s; the EEC framework grants streamlined regulatory approval for anchor infrastructure investments of this scale.
